bordering on weird :) is the fact that this is the kind of scrabble game that makes Steve smile (and forces us to use the dictionary). I think you have to watch it once to understand the victory that comes with adding a letter to the middle of a clump to make the words up and down all work without a space.

Strange is the weather during this spring break that swings from pouring rain to hail to sunshiney skis to snow. But it did sure look pretty, the snow that is. The rain just can't help look anything but soggy.

Strange is the fact that Sam was diagnosed with a case of shingles tonight. Anybody else out there ever experience it in a little one? He's on some expensive meds (as of tonight) and has been told to expect some nasty pain and discomfort.
Hopefully we can post some sun pictures soon!

So, was his score like in the 1000's???????
Hi Leanne,
Trevor and Jake had shingles, and yes it is very painful!!
Poor Cam! We will pray that the meds will work quickly and that he won't experience as much pain!
and LOVE that kind of scrabble game!
OOPS I meant Sam! sorry!
Hope Sam gets through it quickly and it's not too painful!!
Never heard of shingles in kids. My 'elderly' neighbour lady has had it a few times and she says it is very painful. Hope the medicine works and he gets better fast and hope that none of your other children get it. Is it contagious?

Yes, one of my boys had shingles when he was in first grade. He had had chicken pox already a few years before. He was quite stressed out in grade 1 and broke out in shingles, I don't remember the meds being expensive, (10 yrs ago) but it was quite painful. It didn't take him too long to get over it though. Hope all goes well with your boy!!

hi friend
i love reading your blog!
Bethany had shingles like a week or two after she started school (they told me they can come IF... your child had chicken poxs before 9 months of age and had it very mild and then later as a child if they are under stress or over tired ( like the joy of starting school!) they can get shingles as it is the same virus as chicken pox. We were told it would be very painful but we must give thanks unto the Lord because we never had any tears only a few complaints of it being sore. we just had pandol for pain and some cream to put on. and also gave her lots of Vitamin C because that also helps to over come it and boost the child back up! hoping Sam is o.k and gets better. that's just sharing my mother knowledge with you.
love Steph down under
