Spring Break Begins

With a  pretty smashing start!! Not everyday will be so full but considering I thought we would be waking up to rain we did our best to soak in as much fresh air and sun as possible!

First up, taking Dairy Queen up on their offer to help celebrate their 75th anniversary with a free cone!

Next four wonderful hours exploring a gorgeous piece of what we call home!

Pretty cheerful company!! The rascal!

We don't go over bridges the same way most people do - not these energizer bunnies!

It's always great to have an island you can call your own. :)

By the time they had walked a FEW kms (in their boots!!) and climbed the rock "pile" because that's just FUN, they were starting to get a bit weary.  Towards the end we made a bit of space on the stroller and gave a few piggy backs.  (Well, the kids were weary but look at that beautiful lady!!) We were all thankful to reach the van again.

And as if that wasn't enough it ended with a Auntie Shelly sleepover in the crawl space. Love that lady too!

Far Away but not Too Far

The kids had Grandparent Day today. Face time was a great way for them to share their classrooms and work with Opa and Nana!!
A pretty great way to have them "there with us".  Although the background noise and our fumbling around trying to line up the camera might have been quite a bit more topsy turvey for them!
Thankful for technology.

Night and Day Difference

Or morning and afternoon difference, really.
I went to school this morning thinking I was going to spend a few fun hours there trying to be useful. I hadn't even got in the door when I saw Cara's teacher looking at me and there was something about her look that niggled the mom feelers.
Sure enough Cara was sitting in her desk just SHAKING with high fever.  Whole body, pathetic, teeth rattling shakes.  I got her home, got some medicine into her, got her uniform off and she was asleep in seconds.

Three hours later with one half awakening for the bathroom and lots of mumbling sort of hallucinating she woke up ready to eat.  One hour of recovery, eating and drinking and lots of stories later, she was just fine. She got up, spent some time stamping and coloring and chatting my ears full.

And went to work on the homework Cody brought home as though nothing ever happened.

Strange stuff!! My guess it was some sort of allergic reaction as opposed to a flu? But that's a guess!

Lots of Love

Delighting in being a pain in Opa's neck :) This face timing with my grandparents is a neat treat.
And you said you have the blog on your iPad, Opa and Oma,so I hope you don't mind to find your face here!  Love you so, so much!

A Little Surgery

A makeshift operating room...

A specialty tweezer and a tight grip.

But Cody still went to bed with a great big sliver deeply under his thumb nail. Apparently I need a few more years of med school. And maybe a needle with some freezing?

I Still Won

Those small legs are frustrating...
But these were this week's casualties alone and the pair on the right were so finished I could cut them up without feeling bad.

Here's to hoping these knees make it till June :)

And if anyone out there can help me understand.... how on earth can two boys go through the knees of 2 pairs of pants a week??????????
